The 10 Best Cozy Witch Games for a Magical Fall

Check out the 10 best cozy witch games for this fall. Brew potions, cast spells, tend magical gardens, and master tarot in these charming witchy games on Switch, Steam, and more.

When the leaves start turning and there’s a crispness in the air, it’s the perfect time to fire up some cozy witch games. Ever since I caught my first episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch back in the late ’90s, I’ve been obsessed with witches. I mean, who wouldn’t want magical powers and a talking cat as a sidekick?

Fall is my favorite time of year and it puts me in the mood for games that make me feel like I’m living inside a Studio Ghibli movie, like Kiki’s Delivery Service. I want a sweet story, potion brewing, tons of crafting, and all the elements you’d expect from a witchy game. Basically, I just want to live out my cozy witch fantasy.

Whether you’re a seasoned witch or you simply love all things supernatural, here are my top cozy witch game picks for a magical fall.

1. Witchy Life Story

Witchy Life Story is a whimsical narrative sim set in a charming world of witchcraft. You’ll tend your garden, conjure magical spells, and maybe even befriend the lovely villagers, all while unraveling the complications of their lives… and possibly your own!

You’ve got fifteen days to save the beloved Harvest Festival.

Grow your garden and gather mystical plants for spells and rituals, all in the name of helping the villagers of Flora. Because let’s be real, if magic can’t be used to sort out everyday life dilemmas, what’s the point of having a witch in town?

Available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

2. Wytchwood

Wytchwood was one of the first indie games I played on Nintendo Switch and it holds a really special place in my heart. From the crisp sound design to the humor-filled story, there’s so much to love here.

You play as a grumpy old witch of the woods who just wants to be left alone but gets roped into an adventure to uncover a mystery. You solve puzzles and deal with the strange creatures lurking in the mystical forest.

If you want a witch game with real personality and a protagonist who is fully annoyed about this whole “saving the world” thing, Wytchwood is it. Available on Nintendo Switch, Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.

3. The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a layered narrative that unfolds across decades, following Fortuna’s journey of self-discovery and the deep ripple effects her choices have on her Coven and the world at large. Forge unique divination cards from hundreds of options, and shape the fates of the characters you meet along the way.

This one hit close to home for me as a tarot deck collector. Being able to create your own divination cards from scratch (choosing the art, the meaning, the symbolism) felt like someone had pulled a game straight out of my head. Available on Nintendo Switch and Steam.

4. Wylde Flowers

Set off on a magical journey to the small town of Fairhaven as Tara, helping out on the family farm. Wylde Flowers remains super popular, but it’s still sitting on my wishlist and I can’t wait to experience everything Fairhaven has to offer.

Farm by day, cast spells by night, turn into a cat, and bring an entire town back together.

If you loved Stardew Valley and wished it had a secret witchcraft storyline running under all the farming, here you go. Available on Nintendo Switch, Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox for PC, and Apple Arcade.

5. Homestead Arcana

Build your farm from scratch in Homestead Arcana. You step into the role of a witch farmer working alongside your cat, Huckleberry, on land that’s been tainted by a mysterious Miasma.

Uncover the hidden truth behind its appearance, grow magical ingredients to level up your sorcery, and use nature’s magic to restore and rejuvenate your land.

A witch with a familiar cat named Huckleberry, restoring a magical garden… This checks absolutely every single box of my cozy witch fantasy. Available on Steam and Xbox.

6. Book of Hours

Claim a crumbling occult library on a wintry coast. Assemble the world’s most prestigious collection of grimoires, dark arts, and arcane knowledge. Hone your expertise in the esoteric arts.

Book of Hours plays out as a narrative RPG set in the 1930s, where hidden gods and untold stories wait to be uncovered. What kind of Librarian will you be?

This is the most “academic witch” entry on the list. If your witchcraft fantasy leans more toward dusty libraries and ancient texts than cauldrons and broomsticks, Book of Hours was made for you. Available on Steam.

7. The Witch of Fern Island

Find your new life on the mysterious Fern Island. This island is home to three magical cultures: Boran, Apatut, and Kuqkwa. Among them, you’ll meet a wide-eyed newcomer named Abrill, who ended up on the island after a bumpy trip to a magic academy gone wrong.

The Witch Academy decides to seize the moment and put young Abrill’s magical skills to the test while uncovering the island’s best-kept secrets.

It’s like a witch life sim crossed with a survival game, where you build your magical abilities from the ground up on a mysterious island full of secrets. The three different magical cultures give it a depth that genuinely surprised me. Available on PC (Steam).

8. Witchcrafty

If you’re looking for something with a bit more action, give Witchcrafty a shot. Put your spells to the test in this game that blends magical combat, supernatural exploration, and charming pixel art graphics.

Join the young witch as she unravels the mystery behind strange happenings in the Kingdom and battles enemies using elemental powers of fire, lightning, and ice magic.

Not every witch game has to be slow and chill. Sometimes you want to zap things with lightning as a cute pixel art witch, and Witchcrafty totally gets that. Available on Nintendo Switch, Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.

9. Witchbrook

Witchbrook is a magical coming-of-age adventure where you’ll make new friends and go on dates. Brew powerful potions, race brooms with your classmates, forage for mushrooms, and put your botany skills to work growing different plants and flowers. It’ll also feature multiplayer for up to four players.

If you’ve ever dreamed of going to Hogwarts but wished it were a Stardew Valley-style pixel art game with romance options… Witchbrook is exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

Made by Chucklefish, the studio that previously published Stardew Valley on multiple platforms. I’ve been waiting for this one for years and it’s set to launch this year on PC/Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled!

10. Little Witch in the Woods

Little Witch in the Woods is a charming life sim where you play as Ellie on her journey to becoming a witch apprentice. This witch-in-training is guided by her magical hat. You’ll gather ingredients for your potions and explore a mysterious fantasy world.

Throughout history, the bond between witches and their feline companions has been unbreakable. Connect with cats that live in different locations, each with a personality as unique as their appearance. If you have a fated encounter with one of these cats, it might just decide to spend every day by your side.

It’s adorable, it has cats. What more could you ask from a witch game? The full version launched on Steam on September 15, 2025 after its Early Access period, and the Nintendo Switch version dropped on September 16, 2026. Available on PC (Steam), Xbox (Game Preview), and Nintendo Switch (September 16, 2026).

Frequently asked questions about cozy witch games

What is a cozy witch game?

A cozy witch game is any video game that combines witchy themes like brewing potions, casting spells, reading tarot, or tending magical gardens with a relaxed, low-stakes vibe. Think less “dark sorcery” and more “cottage witch chatting with her cat.”

Are witch games only for Halloween?

Not at all! Fall is obviously the perfect season for them (there’s something about the changing leaves and cooler air that just fits), but cozy witch games are wonderful year-round. A lot of them (like Wylde Flowers, Witchy Life Story, and Little Witch in the Woods) are farming and life sims you’ll want to play for months.

What’s the best cozy witch game for beginners?

If you’re brand new to cozy games, I’d start with Wylde Flowers. It gradually introduces you to both the farming sim genre and the witchcraft elements, so you never feel overwhelmed. The story is engaging, the characters are fully voice-acted, and the gameplay loop is satisfying from the very first hour.

Are there any free cozy witch games?

Most of the games on this list are paid, but they’re pretty affordable, and many of them go on sale regularly during Steam’s seasonal events and the Nintendo eShop sales. Little Witch in the Woods on Xbox is still in Game Preview and can be played via cloud gaming with certain Game Pass tiers, though you’ll need to purchase the game separately.
Keep an eye out especially during the fall and Halloween sales.

Which cozy witch games can I play on Nintendo Switch?

Witchy Life Story, Wytchwood, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, Wylde Flowers, and Witchcrafty are all available on Nintendo Switch. On top of that, Little Witch in the Woods launched on September 16, 2026, and Witchbrook has a confirmed Switch and Switch 2 release for 2026. Switch owners are eating well.

Which cozy witch game has tarot cards?

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is the one you’re looking for. You actually create your own divination cards from hundreds of components, choosing the imagery and the meaning. On top of that, it’s a beautifully written narrative about sisterhood and the consequences of our choices.

Has Witchbrook come out yet?

Not yet, but it’s getting close. Chucklefish, the studio that previously published Stardew Valley on multiple platforms, has officially confirmed a 2026 launch for Witchbrook on PC/Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox. It’ll feature multiplayer for up to four players. No exact date has been announced yet, but it’s one of the most anticipated cozy games out there.

Which witch game feels the most like Studio Ghibli?

If you’re chasing that Kiki’s Delivery Service vibe, Witchy Life Story and Little Witch in the Woods come the closest. Both have that gentle, slice-of-life atmosphere where magic is woven into everyday tasks rather than centered on epic battles. They capture that warm, slightly whimsical tone that makes Ghibli films so special.

So, have you dipped your toes into the world of cozy witch games yet? I hope at least one of these has cast a spell on you.

If you end up trying any of them, let me know which one in the comments. If you know of a witch game I missed, share it so we can add it to the list!
